ALCI 2016 Awards
It is with great delight that we can announce Burlington Road as the Commercial Landscape category winner at 2016 ALCI Awards.
The Annual Association of Landscape Contractors of Ireland (ALCI) Landscape Awards took place at Titanic Belfast on 11th November and were presented by Guest of Honour, Norman Fulton, Deputy Secretary, Dept of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs, NI. The awards, known as the Oscars of the landscaping industry, acknowledge ALCI members who demonstrate exceptionally high standards of professionalism and skill in the execution of a wide variety of landscape projects.
The judges were Gary Graham, Bloom Manager, DME Amenity Horticulture Bord Bia and John McCullen, retired Chief Parks Superintendent, OPW. They awarded marks on a variety of criteria, including the use of plants and hard landscaping material, the extent of challenges faced by the landscaper in completing the work and the overall impression and quality of the scheme.
Judges Comments
This was a complex project for All, beautifully finished to the highest standards in keeping with a sensitively restored period building on Burlington Road Dublin. The project included all external civils, SUDS compliant stabilised gravel at the front, culverting an old underground spring in rear garden, random rubble granite walls with lime mortar, timber and trellis work, the construction of a garden wardrobe, lighting, drainage, lawn, planting and irrigation. Everything well-crafted delivering an impressive parking space to the front and a superb garden at the rear.
